Can You Move On?
Someone asked me recently, “When did you know you could move on?” I’d never been asked this question before, so I considered my answer. I believe it was one day when a lawyer discussed the probabilities of a lawsuit.

Faith is a word often used in media, sports and everyday life. People say, “Yes, I did it because I had faith” or “We won the game because we had faith.” But what do they have faith in? It’s one thing to have faith that your chair will hold you when you sit or that your car will start when you turn the key. We need deeper faith.
Since I had not been valedictorian, I avoided the class. Instead, I took the summer course at my hometown community college. Summer classes are intense—three hours a night, three nights a week—covering a full semester’s work in a few weeks. Then I missed three days—nine hours—the equivalent of three weeks work (Yes, youth camp was more fun than summer school).

Recently, he and I began attending a mastermind group composed of other small business owners. The meetings are stunning and mind-opening. After each meeting, we are encouraged and challenged to integrate better leadership into our day-to-day work.
