No Turning Back – Christine Trimpe’s Faith Journey to Health Victory

By Christine Trimpe

The sun peeked over the mountaintop as I laced up my hiking boots, ready to conquer another trail.

Standing at the base of this extreme hike, I reflected on how far I’ve come in my health journey even to consider such a feat!

This climb wasn’t just physically demanding—it symbolized my newfound freedom, illustrating the pinnacle of my new life: living free from decades of chronic disease!

A Moment of Transformation

Years ago, hiking a mountain was just a dream. Trapped by yo-yo dieting, sugar addiction, morbid obesity, and emotional exhaustion, my heart was heavy with guilt and shame.

But then everything changed! By God’s grace, I quit sugar and adopted a low-carb lifestyle. This decision renewed my mind and helped me gain a one-hundred-pound weight loss victory.

Faith as the Guiding Light

This transformation was as spiritual as it was physical.

For too long, I lived as a casual Christian, controlling every aspect of my life. Surrendering to God’s plan changed everything. He met me in my mess, broke the sugar shackles, and transformed my heart.

Living low-carb means seeing food as fuel to nourish my body, mind, and spirit. As I climbed the mountain, I felt my past weight fall away, replaced by peace and purpose and what I describe as food serenity.

Celebrating the Wins

“The mountains are calling, and I must go!” This quote by John Muir has become my battle cry.

Standing at the summit of the Manitou Incline, tears of joy streaming down my face, I celebrated one of my life’s most demanding physical challenges. It wasn’t that long ago I sat gasping for air and had to sit on the sidelines of life once again due to my chronic health issues.

Each mountain I climb reminds me that I can overcome anything with God’s strength. Friend, this is your invitation to do the same. I’ve gained wisdom through my weight-loss journey and am here to share it with you.

An Invitation to Live Well, Serve Well for the Glory of God

Picture yourself thriving—filled with energy, vitality, and living out God’s purpose for your life.

When you feel better, you serve better. My life verse perfectly describes my newfound freedom: “You have filled my heart with greater joy than when their grain and new wine abound” (Psalm 4:7 NIV).

That joy awaits you, providing hope to release the sugar shackles and other burdens that weigh you down. Trust God with your wellness journey. When you show up, God shows off.

Take the next step today to reclaim your health and walk toward a life free from sugar shackles.

Here are four quick tips to help you clean up sugar from your diet:

Ditch the Drinks: Avoid sugary beverages like soda, sweetened coffee, and juices. Instead, opt for water, plain mineral water, herbal teas, or black coffee.

Read Labels: Hidden sugars lurk everywhere! Look for ingredients like high-fructose corn syrup and dextrose. Anything ending in “-ose” is sugar.

Plan: Prep your meals and snacks, so you’re not tempted by high-sugar options when hunger strikes.

Focus on Filling Up: Build your meals around healthy sources of protein and fat—like eggs, avocados, beef, chicken, or salmon—to keep you full and satisfied and reduce sugar cravings and the urge to snack.

This is your moment to act. Trust me, the view of weight loss victory on this mountaintop is worth it. There’s no turning back—only forward into better health.
